gag, you guys. internet misogyny isn't new. some forms of sexism are so subtle and ingrained into the way we relate to each other that everyone freaks when you point it out. i think you're making some weird assumptions about the way i think about sexism.

never was a big folk person but i don't have anything against it. i like six organs of admittance and davy graham a lot?

I actually have found most members here to be pretty good about the whole feminist thing. I am not going into in, other than to say - I don't like that FBG feels the need to show her tits to get attention from male musicians. I would prefer that she use her skills as a guitar player to actually play fucking music. I think women have a hard enough time being taken seriously (as someone pointed out earlier this week here by saying that a band had a woman singer as a "gimmick" and not because she was talented and liked playing), without having to overcome more BS stereotypes being played out by women like FBG. I have no issue with women who show some skin. I don't think it counts as slut shaming to say that you just don't want to buy into that version of the female musician. Women have made huge strides recently and are fronting HUGE bands that are doing cool things. I don't want to support a stereotype i refuse to submit to in my real life.

Ok, rant over.

Let me reiterate my point for further clarification:
I sincerely doubt that this place is nearly as woman-hating as you seem happy to believe that it is.

Also, before we continue this misogyny-and-sexism on the internet seminar, I'd like to make an announcement: you and gearmond are not the only ones who have been to college. Please refrain from being condescending in your assumptions about what we know about gender inequality.

I like that nobody takes into account that FBG enforces the stereotype that men will buy anything featuring naked/near naked women in the adds. Its sleazy, and not in a funny or clever way. Its blatant and stupid, and id rather she not open up that kind of didactic in the pedal world. Yeah yeah titties are great and everything but history shows that most things marketed in a sexual manner fucking blow ass and ruin culture. Case in point; axe spray, budweiser beer, dean guitars.

edit: im sure thats why alot of the male members were irritated by the videos, nobody likes a condescending salesperson.

oh please, i'm not being condescending. there is a general tone that is usually present in the way most people on this forum (and the internet at large) talk about women.

and come on, i'm fucking 18. sucks that you think i had to go to college to give a shit about marginalization.

Chill, no one really cares if you've gone to college or not. But explaining to us the nuances of sexism and the internet as if we're only a bunch of anus-stealing-hyena-video posters is definitely condescending.
