A pack of Sharpies and a can clear coat. I suck at water slides and rattle canning though. Would like to try screen printing.

I print some art that I took on the internet on sticker sheets. Then i put some clear vinyl sticker over it to protect. Pretty basic and perhaps really amateurish, but works well for me.

Re: painting/printing the enclosure
there are just too many ways to do it. stickers, powdercoat, paint, screen print, etched, brushed, polished, swirl, paper, pens, cloth, glitter, fake fur, leather, wood. I have seen everything. even if you etch, how do you etch? I have two ways to do it by hand with wax and I just found a way to do it with lacquer by hand. I still never tried a transfer but everyone else does it that way. even if you read the best tutorial on etching, it is only the start of learning how to etch. I think stickers from your printer are probably the fastest easiest way. pre powder coated boxes are great but you still need to do a waterslide decal or a sticker or handpaint over that.
