I also think we should expand this to everything the man has done, including working with other artists like Lou Reed and Iggy Pop (i.e. Transformer and The Idiot).

Seeing as I'm an instrumental kind of feller, I'm probably going to do Speed of Life unless I can find someone to sing over Golden Years, Fame, or Cat People.

Unless a cover of a cover of a cover is allowed, and I'll totally snatch up My Death (Bowie covering Scott Walker covering Jacques Brel)

I'd say that's definitely allowed, I love his version of that song. And I'm not a good singer, but I'm still planning on singing a Bowie song. In a way, it doesn't really matter because anyone you choose is not David Bowie.

what kind of a timeline do we have to finish stuff? i totally want to do something, but it's going to be a bear to decide whether to do the R&B version of "Lady Stardust," the country and western version of "The Supermen" with the pedal-steel solo, the George Harrison blues version of "Oh! You Pretty Things," or the Grateful Dead version of "Beauty and the Beast." i'm probably going to have to do "Beauty and the Beast" because i love that riff so much.

Those all sound like great ideas, but I definitely agree with Beauty and the Beast, that song is just amazing. Got down drums and scratch guitars for the A section of stoner rock Station To Station just now... This could be my favourite recording ever, it has HARMONIZED GUITARS. This is going to be very fun.

Are you doing station to station all by yourself? because that's awesome.

That's the plan! I'll be programming the drums (addictive drums) and recording everything else. Vocals might be a problem because I'm not a good singer though... I'll probably have a go at it (because everyone wants to sing Bowie songs!), but is anyone here good at singing who might want to do a better job? Could be cool having some tracks that are collabs between users. :idk:

I don't think I'm that amazing at vocals, but I'm decent. If you want to send me something, I'll see what I can do yeah?
So this turned into another devi thread...

That would be cool! It'll probably be a looong time before this is anywhere near done though, kind of a big project. I might just take you up on that though. :thumb:

I might. Are you patient enough to follow a sloppy guitar and voice track?

as long as it's listenable... :D
but it would be cool if you would send me the name/youtube link of the song you need so I can listen into it a couple of times before playing.
