I'm not actually sure there would be a general consensus on the genre of music I play. (In other words, eclectic as a motherfucker.)

Double bass in orchestra, so Classical. But lead guitar in my band. We play rock, metal, and blues. Just doing on genre of music limits your fan base, and that each band member likes different types of music so different types of songs are written.

Depends on the project: Electronic. Indie-rock. Psych/drone/shoegaze/metal/quasi-industrial... stuff.

Sludge-ish post-metal stuff, shoegaze and electronica.

It has elements of a lot of stuff I guess. My band right now has some really atmospheric post rock-ish stuff, shoegaze, indie-rock, old school orchid/joshua fit for battle type stuff, then we have super heavy blow your face out of your asshole fuzz riffs. Soooo I dunno, we're indecisive.
When I'm just jamming by myself it's more straight forward ambient soundscape shit with way too much reverb and delay.

My band plays indie rock. When I'm by myself, I just try to put long strings of overly complicated chords together, which usually comes out as shoegaze.
