Cosmichorus is very cool for light and shimmery flange tones!

Sometimes I like using a flanger with the rate and depth rolled all the way off.

Yeah, sometimes the "non-flange" sounds you can get are the best. I've gotten weird-ass metallically resonant sound out of my bf-2... almost like the guitar is being mic'ed through a steel drum.

+1 to that. Or I'll turn the rate and speed all the way up to get that crazy warbly noise. Rarely is my rate high and speed low, or vise versa.

Ok so I snagged an xo stereo electric mistress and I gotta say very cool BUT :( their are some things
I'm not diggin, first you can't really set it for a slow sweep which bummed me out cuz like phase
I love me some slow sweep action.

Secondly when you max out the flanger depth knob their are some noticeable volume spikes :( lastly
as mentioned before that filter matrix thingy that engages when the sweep knob is below 12:00 going
counter clockwise :( this ties in with my slow sweep gripe and I'm in full agreement that they should
have assigned that function to a switch instead.

Yah, I have an XO mistress adn I have teh same problems, but if you fidget with it, you can get a pretty sclow sweep, and yah with the flanger up all they way, at teh top of the wave form (when teh wave peaks) it's super loud and kinda painfull to listen to.

I did get some awesome sounds though  especially when you mixed the two effects, on a sidenote I finally snagged a vortex
and I'll definitley report back on how it is once it arrives!! :)

You CAN get some slow sweeps. On mine, the filter matrix only goes up to about 11:00. From 11 to 12, it does start sweeping REALLY slow. Go back and try that little area between 11 and 12, and see if it is actually sweeping slowly.

But yes, they should have put it on a switch.

And yes, you can get some wicked volume spikes. The reason is that the flanger depth knob also seems to control the feedback/regen parameter that most flangers have. So when you crank it all the way, you are using a TON of feedback and it gets really resonant and peaky. Although I like the fact that it can do that, and have started using it in a song.

Ok my first impressions for the vortex this thing is excellent!! :omg: very versatile I found I could
dial in a variety of flange sounds from the many I've owned and running it in stereo holy smokes
so lush and also queasy.

I haven't been able to freeze the sweep to get it act like the filter matrix of the ehx flangers
and I'm not sure it can do that, the only thing I was dissappointed with was the tone print
aspect the first time I hooked the pedal up to download one I was informed that the
firmware in thepedal was out of date and needed to be updated.

I have yet to figure out how to do this
