Still working my way through Deux Ex, taking forever since I'm going no kill/sorta stealth (but still knocking out everyone I come across for extra xp)
I was ultra-stealthy but psychotic, killed everyone I could pretty much, silenced pistol headshots ftw. I've had the urge to play it again over the last few days, except I don't see myself doing anything different this time around. I guess a no kills no alerts game would be cool.
It was a great game but I dunno if it has that much replayability. The mechanics are FUN and there's a lot of stuff in all the levels, but you are just doing the same levels again. I've played the first DX game 3 times since I first got it last year, and I still want to play it loads, because it forces you into using a more specialised character, whereas in HR they give you enough praxis points to get every upgrade.. And by the end of that I had about 10 left because I didn't WANT any of the other upgrades. They did screw that up a bit, along with being able to use any weapon equally well, I missed the weapon skills from the first game. And needing to use multitools/lockpicks a lot more in DX meant the amount you had left actually impacted which route you took, and in HR you can just hack anything for no cost... You can limit yourself on upgrades (I did because I thought all the stealth ones were stupid and would make sneaking too easy), but the weapon thing bugged me.
I bet if they hadn't called it deus ex I wouldn't care about the weapon thing, but the comparison hurts the game. Although if they hadn't called it deus ex I almost certainly wouldn't have bothered getting it because it kinda looked like just another modern shooter game. WALL OF OLD GAMES ARE BETTER TEXT.

Only for bosses though. Using it on normal dudes isn't cool, I literally only got it to breeze through the boss fights because I hated them so much
