Why do people put their tuner first if their board goes

TU-2->BMP->OD?

Everyone assumes a tuner can't track unless it's up front, buffer be damned!

I have a true bypass tuner and that bitch still ain't up front. Tracks wonderfully regardless.

Right? I don't get it. My tuner is last in the chain. Never had problems, plus now I have an instant mute for when songs end.

man I ALWAYS put my tuner last. It's the quickest way when you're setting up of checking that all your connections are working.

It depends on what you are doing.

See the little pins in the tubes?

Angels don't like being crammed on the heads of pins.

They die an emo death, crying.

It's how you get overdrive.

i prefer to put the tuner towards the front, or between the fuzz and the rest of the stuff. but it's not for any arcane tracking reasons...it's because i play a lot of single-coil guitar and if i kill the signal going into the pedalboard from the guitar 80% of the noise goes away, so i like the mute-to-tune. running the tuner at the end is also kind of problematic now because i'm running more modulation and filtery stuff in the tail end of the chain, which fucks the tuning up unless i turn everything on/off. and when i loop i've already got enough trouble dealing with turning things on and off.

I never understood putting a high gloss finish on a neck. Shit just gets sticky. different strokes etc, but I just can't imagine it ever working from experience.

Which reminds me, I don't understand why more of the multifx units dont' have a tuner out jack any more.

It was a marvelous option (both for tuner and for guitar signal DI to something else), and I miss it.

Curse you, shifty Roland designers, for forgetting it existed by the mid-90s.

I'm the same way. Tuner up front, so I don't chop off my tails on my verb/delay. I set them on buffered bypass for a reason. ;) Also, I'm all about efficiency, so the thought of turning off pedals just so can get an accurate tune makes me cringe. Having a kill switch at the end of my chain is the only perk to having the tuner last for me, but I'd rather build a simple kill switch in a tiny enclosure and keep it in the corner of my board for that purpose. :animal:

This is one of the sillier ideas guitar manufacturers have adopted. First thing I do when I get a new guitar is take some sandpaper to the back of that neck. :success:

I don't get Hofner basses either.
Why hasn't Rickenbacker adopted a bass bridge that isn't a huge pain in the ass to adjust?
Why are necks that require removal for truss rod adjustment still made?
