Pedals breaking then magically fixing themselves.
So a few years ago I was moving stuff around I placed a wah on the top of my amp and accidentally knocked it off. When I plugged it into test it no sound I threw it in my closet and a year later plugged it in for the hell of it and worked fine. More recently I was rearranging my board and moved my Noise Invaders fuzz and it still made a sound but not quite what it did before and the led wasn't turning on. I opened it everything seemed fine, no smoke smell, no burn marks, no sign of a shorts. Plugged it back in same thing sound but no led. I tried it right now and it works like the day I got it. Anyone have a similar experiences?
Edit: It stopped working again. It started acting like a clean boost all of sudden.

my micropog stopped working for a while. i opened it up, then closed it, and it hasn't given me a problem since.

My amp did this. It was making a godawful hissing and crackling, but I couldn't afford to fix it. So I just kept playing it at bedroom volume until one day it just stopped. Not a problem since!

Had an Auto-Q from dunlop a few years back that wasn't functioning properly and was making noises while off. Put it up as a as is sale, and like magic it works again. Had it for a long time before I traded it. I kinda want it back for that broken pedal sound as it was kinda unique.

PM incoming. It shouldn't be behaving like that, and certainly shouldn't be acting like a clean boost.
I'll get it sorted for you.

To pose a somewhat parallel question; don't you hate it when you show some one a pedal and your all like "Yo dawg, check this shit out, I can make it (sound like x/self oscillate/ect.)" and you hook it up and the toanz get stage fright and refuse to flow forth?

Problems that go away by themselves come back by themselves too.

Re: Pedals breaking then magically fixing themselves.
imagine the chord progression builds up the tension, a break further intensifies it and all but Your spot light goes off - the lead part should kick in. AND
fart-fart-fart-pfft goes the pedal chain.
play to lead with clean signal and kick the fx chain back on with the band coming in and - everything works like it never failed. Consider pedalcide all the way to home, while friends poke fun of Your 'killer sounds'.
I loved that high gain distortion - when it worked.

One time I thought my pedalboard was broken but then I realized I was playing through a bunch of Effector 13 pedals.
