Wussudill wit dat 919?

Post by Officer Bukowski »

I've got an itch that can only be scratched by an analog delay with some choice modulation. I've been checking out the 616 for a while and I'm about to pull the trigger on one but I don't want to regret buying a 616 once the 919 comes out.

So wussudill with the 919? Why should I (or why should I not) wait for the 919? Anyone know when it will be released or how much it will cost?

Btw I'm aware of the problems with the 616 but I'll probably just buy one new from PGS or something if I get one so I'll be able to return it if it breaks.

The guy who started designing it had a death in the family, so it got moved to the backburner. Malekko's been busy with other shit since.

Fuck when I see that 919 picture I just know that's the one I have to get.

Thanks for the insight StopReferencing. I hope it comes out soon but I'll have to try to be patient.

Josh mentioned they were starting back up with the 919 when he posted that update recently. It'll come out but who knows when. I want one, badly. I'm not waiting on it anymore though. $350 is the last price I heard which would be a steal on a good sounding ad with tap tempo.

Why 919 over 616? (Theoretically, of course)

First off, TONE KNOB. Everyone's been longing for the tone control on E600s (myself included) and the 616 is too bright for my liking. FINALLY!

Also, if you want/need tap tempo, 919. It's supposed to be designed around NOS 15V BBD chips which offer "the widest dynamic range available" in a BBD based delay, which could be incredible or not. Lastly, the filters and lofi settings that Devi was raving about sounded promising :idk:

Whatever, should be cool if it finally materializes but seems too good to be true at that price esp with the soaring value of the DMM w/tap. These threads always make me think of this masterpiece, posted originally by theactionindex.

Wait.. It has a lofi mode? I don't care about tap tempo but a lofi mode and a tone knob definately make me want badly.

Also, I agree.. The 616 seems slightly too bright to me, although I think it sounds incredible and I'd still buy one.

Dang dude I wish I could just get a 919 right now..

Not an actual lofi mode, some sort of filter or decay control/settings. Devi mentioned rolling some knobs back in one of these settings and getting a basic lofi filter tone, without the delay mixed in, lofi loop junky style. All this was described in posts but alas, no demos or sound clips...

I don't care about tap either, never use it but if this thing approaches the sound of the E600s with all these options, ultimate analog delay!

Ahh ok. If it had a switch to do the whole lofi 616 thing that would just be insanely awesome.

Yeah this thing has major potential. I'm so interested in it

Yours for only $500-800!

Stoked for the 919. It will come out when it does...as was mentioned there was a serious personal shakeup for the lead designer of the pedal.

Anyone who has been holding off on buying delays for this thing is crazy.
Buy some shit. Flip it when the 919 comes out. So it goes.

Word. $350 is a lot more than I was expecting compared to the low cost of the 616 and all. If it comes out to more like $250 ish then I could totally swing it.

So you're saying just shut up and get a 616 for now, right?

But yeah the tap tempo DMM does not interest me.

I thought it was like $300? Either way, it's my ultimate delay. Me thinks... :erm:

Sample and hold filter sounds sweet.
