The Unpleasant Surprise is a strange beast, hard to control and even harder to explain. Think of it as losing all dynamics, there's either a wall of sound coming at your ears or nothing at all, no in between. I'm getting some samples together to give a little taste of it's fury. The switches are loosely labelled G(ain), C(omp) and T(one). Onset is a gate threshold and gain all wrapped into one, particularly useful when the US is preceded by dirt pedals. Design ain't final yet, might be some slight changes. It sounds great with bass too, if you're into nasty bass lines.
Guillaume I love fuzz, and I like this place.
I will get one as soon as it's available... and I might get the Randy's Revenge too (depends on the price).

LFO as in the LO range of the oscillator. Not as a separate oscillator modulating the carrier, as seen in the moogerfooger.
That little birdy is just chewing it, like the one who said The Barbershop was a Klon clone. I don't base my designs off other pedals, I base them on textbook electronics, application notes and whatever happens at the bench after that. The one pedal that did inspire me to make a ring mod was the Lovetone Ring Stinger. Damn that thing had balls.
As for the price, I'll announce it once I have a better idea of costs related to building the units.

I guess Unplesant Surprise will be ready first. I'm interested in both.

I had wanted one for a long time and finally snatched one up after I heard they were being discontinued. I was not disappointed.
Years ago I had a Moog and never really used it that much. When I did use it it was for the tremolo or to make R2-D2 sounds. Maybe I didn't really know what to do with it at the time, but, since listening to a lot of DEVO and early Flaming Lips, I think I have a better idea now. Even though the Moog is more tweakable, I prefer the sound of the RR.
