Re: Advanced Vibrato/Tremolo Pedals
the problem for me with many of the complex pedals is that although they do wonderful things, i don't really like the way they affect the guitar signal. the Goatkeeper is a perfect example; the programming effects are fascinating, but i just don't like the way the guitar sounds after it's been through it. i'm no TGP tone snob, but i have my limits. i like the Tremolessence, and i find that Kilpatrick thing fascinating.

Pretty big footprint but EHX's the Wiggler is another option but the Ring Thing looks like a more fun and exciting option.

Are we talking pitch vibrato? Or old school "we called it vibrato but really it's a tremolo"?

Re: Advanced Vibrato/Tremolo Pedals
I just picked up the Digitech Hardwire Tremolo/Rotary.
its got 3 or 4 different style trems, rotary, vibes, and traditional vibrato.
nothing mind blowing, but solid and actually pretty great sounding pedal.
EHX worm also.
Ring Thing looks badass...didnt know it could do pitch shifting

I have and use both the Marshal VT-1vibratrem and the TC electonics Shaker Vibrato.
Both are really nice.

In fact I usually keep the marshal on, with the depth set very low.
Very subtle almost not noticeable until you turn it off.
Then if feels like something’s missing.

Re: Advanced Vibrato/Tremolo Pedals
so far the best trem pedal I've found is the Catlinbread Pareidolia.
more versatile than just a trem.

Re: Advanced Vibrato/Tremolo Pedals
Im on a quest for a tremolo pedal with tap tempo.
My 2 final choices seems to be the empress and the new "looker"
http://www.youngpedals.com/thelooker.html
Anyone has references of both pedals???

I'm surprised the Marshall Vibratrem vibrato stands up alongside the TC Shaker...or does it? If you A/B'd the vibrato modes on the same settings how much difference would you say there was?
I'm after something like the Vibratrem, but can't help but think it'll be fairly poor quality compared to my Diamond trem, or (hopefully in the next week or so) my Analogman TR-2
I wish Boss would hurry up and make a TR-3 with a vibrato mode similar to, but hopefully better than the Vibratrem.

I have a vibratrem and it's ok, but not great. I think the vibrato mode is pretty crap, the tremolo has very little range, and it adds a really annoying quality to the sound when it's on, which might be whatever booster is in it which i turned up a bit to compensate the volume drop it used to have. I guess it's pretty good for the price and I could probably get it to work better by tweaking the gain level and stuff, but I'd rather just have something that sounds good from the start.

What about the Gig-FX Chopper. Pretty strange take on a trem pedal, but it sounds pretty badass. Haven't found a great demo of it, but theres a few on youtube
