That live journal thing is not there now. If the link is correct, it's been pulled pretty fucking sharpish.

Not taking sides in all of this because I'm not in possession of all the facts, not actually being there in the middle of all of it. Trying to divorce what I'm reading here from that guy that made all that music I happen to like. Not an easy thing to do. I accepted Billy was a dick, because he made good music (for the record I even like his newer stuff, so suck it), but bringing somebody's gender into it and using that as a personal insult? Yup, there's the line.

Like I say, not easy to separate the person from the music.

Im not taking bills side on any of this (he seems to be quite a douche) but I would be a little pissed about taking a woman home only to find out she has a penis. Do what thou wilt and all that, im not going to judge anyone on how they live their lives but I think it would be common courtesy to let a guy know this before you both end up on your bed "making out". kissing and telling isnt very classy either. I was not there though so I could be missing a bunch of this story. Is it all true? Is he talking about you Devi?

She was upset that he didn't use her pedals live, or didn't make the effort to find out that the Rocket wasn't a tone ripoff, caused her to spend money and time on R&D for a product that arguably has a much wider appeal than her other products which will lead to her easily making her money back, remixing some old tracks, collaborating with someone who doesn't share the same beliefs..... did I miss anything, because none of that seems like it would be worth creating this mess.

Once again, a little piece of my heart is torn off each time I think about how he is handling things, but let's not nearsighted here.

You make a good point. The low blows though, dude, "if you still have enough balls left...". I mean... wow. It has been massively blown out of proportion. I don't think I've said anything too extreme, or unreasonable, aside from shock at comments like that, and offering a little chin up here and there, but those types of attacks make me a little uneasy.

Granted, the Silver Rose will be the type of thing that will more or less double the takings of Devi Ever FX, and there may have been some mitigating factors surrounding her feelings about his feelings that might have sparked the thing, but statements like that must be pretty tough to take. And I'm no Courtney Love fan, but I was also a little appalled at the one-sided tirade he launched at her a while back, which was met with nothing if not grace considering the topic that was being discussed.

It does make me sad though, I know a lot of people into his music that are going to be pretty unhappy to hear about this.

I wouldn't call it cherry-picking to quote you from two very recent threads claiming you've got major income but can't offer a refund. To me, that isn't being completely upfront with your customers or your fans, so it leads me to question, yet again, what did devi do to piss someone else off? I'm not defending Billy Corgan, but that is some way out there shit to being saying about you if you were giving him freebie pedals. Just saying, something doesn't add up.

Anyhow. I've said about as much as I can say in regards to all of this. You cats do what you will with the info... because I know people are going to make of this whatever the fuck they want... hell... the oBoard (official pumpkins forum) could give two shits about the transphobia and just see this as an attention whoring drama play on my part... some of HCEF as well (no surprise)... and then of course a few of you here.

But fuck all that noise... transphobia is a dirty truth in my life and people like me... and what billy did last night is unforgivable... watch the video, read the foot notes... this never had to go further than me blowing off some steam in a forum only a few people gave a shit about, and even then, those few people didn't even really care.

Billy escalated this to where it is now, and I was sure as hell not going to let him get away with where he took it.

For everyone who thinks they can run a small business better than those who actually do it - FUCK OFF! It costs a shitload of money to put out a new pedal. It is a massive gamble to put money into parts for pedals that may sell quickly or may not. Sometimes you have a lot of orders, sometimes your broke as fuck.

It is so easy to judge how someone should be spending their money and much less easy to budget for a small business, especially during times of growth.

And any type of bigotry is unacceptable. No matter what.
