Write him some sort of passive aggressive message about who signs his checks ?

He's not the first person to complain about his boss, just dumb enough to do it publicly I guess.

I bet you would.

Already covered in whatever thread, can't play guitar atm and really want to, but would rather sleep anyways for now.

On my birthday on Saturday my car broke down. Had to push it to the shop. Luckily I wasn't too far away. Still... come on...

Dude,
My car completely died on my birthday a few years back, I can't remember where I was going but I was in a full suit and it was pre-cellphone: I walked about 2 miles in my suit, it was the most depressing birthday ever.

That's what I have been asking for every year for the past decade or so. I've never gotten it.

I think my parent's thought process when I was a kid was something like "Nah. Kids love birthday parties."

Just like how people buy me cake every year. I have never in my life had a piece of cake. If you're going to get me some kind of food get me a burger. Or a 6 pack or something.

It annoys the hell out of me. My girlfriend likes having a birthday party. So every year I have one for her, and I make all her favourite foods, favourite drinks, get her gifts that she wants or needs. For my birthday, I just want to be left alone. But if I must have a party couldn't we at least have food and drinks that I like? Know what was at my party? Cake, crappy fruit flavoured beer, and white wine. All the things I dislike.

Over the course of this post I went from mildly annoyed/disheartened comment, to angry ranting, to bitching.

Second try ordering a baritone guitar, second time the (different) store cancels the order.

I like transition of emotions,

Yeah I always got the impression that birthday parties aren't for the people actually having the birthday.

You almost got it. When it's your wife's or your kid's birthday, it's all about doing whatever she/they want, because it's THEIR special day. When it's YOUR birthday, it's not about YOU, it's about making sure everyone else has a good time.

As you can tell, jfrey, I can empathize with you.

Yeah Wives and Kids get what they want,
Except for 2 year olds
Throwing my daughters Birthday this weekend
We will make her sit still and open all the gifts when she would be content to open the first and then run in circles with the wrapping paper.
