I will probably end up with one of these after I get the rest of my rig straightened out. Hopefully they will offer it in sparkly purple, blue, or dark green by that time.

Forum comments seem positive for the Duncan-Design JM pickups in the Squier Vintage-Modified Jazzy. If the Squier JM JM uses the same and they are proper JMs rather than Strat pickups, maybe an upgrade is more in the range of "optional" than "recommended."

I'm guessing they let the cat out of the bag a little early and Fender asked them to take it down.

Squier has erally been kicking fender's ass. I played one of the pawn shop series guitars (the blue one) which was a pretty cool guitar. Although it's way to expensive for what it is (even though it is nice). Squier really has been putting out good quality instruments, :thumb: squier.

I don't think the Pawn Shop series are overpriced at all. $800 for a Japanese Fender (not Squier, mind you) at full retail is quite reasonable in my book.

This looks like it would be a neat upgrade to the Mascis JM: http://curtisnovak.com/pickups/jm-180.shtml

Yah, I wish more people made replacement pickups for JM guitars, the only ones I've been able to find are either cheap gfs ones or expensive ones like the novaks.

Seymour Duncan makes a few that are around $60 each, and I think you can get the Fender AVRI pickups for about the same.

Any thoughts on the Lindy Fralin JM pick-ups? A friend got them for his 90's reissue. Can't hear a major difference but the hum cancelling sure is nice though.

my hohner from (i think) late 80s has the dodgiest actives ever, if i had the skillz i'd just tear them out and fully passive that fucker

wait, is this expensive?

because this is basically a standart pricing for pickups (SD, DM...) in EU i think   not used ones, i'm talking about shop prices

well they're squiers so i don'T know if i can expect non-dull wood, but i think i'm gonna consider it my next purchase (in the time when i have some money.... also maybe after i buy a dano bari)

I have a purple J. Mascis JM and put the Lollar JM P-90s in it, which sounds great, very hot compared to the stale stock pickups it came with. However, I have to admit I am curious about just having a superior JM pickup in it, and not necessarily the P90s.
