Why would someone even buy one and even consider selling it. I don't understand how one could even be bothered getting in that quick just to sell it. The guy who sold it for $510 was extremely fair, but I don't understand why he got one in the first place??

Timeline must lack "teh Mayer Toanz", don't see any other logical explanation.

my devious mind leaps to the immediate logical explanation: somebody got one, went over it and reverse-engineered it to the extent possible in a brief period for cloning purposes, and no longer needs it now that their research is completed. i wonder how much of the software is embedded in the chip(s), and how much of it can be readily extracted...especially if you're, say, a multinational corporation with extensive holdings in DSP technology applications for stompboxes and the tech savvy to do things like read chip memory.

This fuckin' Timeline is incredible! Went out for drinks, smokes, whatever earlier. Back home now messing with it. Blowing my brains. The lofi, filters, patterns, ice! Shit doesn't end. Like a delay/mini synth/mod machine of some sort.

Plus it takes all dirt and fuzz like a champ thus far, of utmost importance!

Took me forever to buy a Strymon, glad I finally did.

Just using this thing with an EHX Freeze before it is ambient heaven. I've nailed aphex twin (synth) tones, windy & carl tones, and found all sorts of cool inspiring sounds, and it seems like it just never ends. I even had to bring out paper to write down all the preset banks that I liked a lot. Then you can use a feedback loop to further mess with the delay sounds, it never ends!

& if anyone is wondering, the looper is very functional, especially if you use a midi attachment so you don't have to switch to looper mode on the pedal. Without a midi controller, you switch to looper mode by holding the right switch, then can record a loop, overdub or leave it playing, then exit looper mode and switch to different delay sounds while the loop is still going (also can change if the loop comes before/after the delays).

Didn't think I'd say this, but it's worth every penny! :excellent:

I have so much want from this thing from seeing the first few seconds of that timeline video which starts with the LFO mode.

Haha, that'd be so funny!

I guess the dude that flip'd it for 510 is some gear journalist that got one earlier on for free and now makes profit. I don't know though, is it really that bad to sell stuff for a profit? If there are people willing to pay that much it's alright, I think. It's not alright to lie though.

Oh I've known the pedal envy. I usually suffer from it when seeing your setups univalve, always the shit! :thumb:

I know we've talked about if briefly but I think you'd love both the Space and Timeline. If I was picking only one, the TL would be the clear choice and the two do share a bit of overlap, however, they're both incredibly unique and pairing 'em up is total bliss. It's also totally expensive which is the biggest downside obviously. That said, I think you can abandon any and all reverb and delay GAS with these two on your board, I know I will.

Also worth mentioning, the Timeline is small and light, surprisingly so considering all the awesomeness packed within.

Totally agree about the looper, still need to spend more time with it though. I've been so lost in the presets since getting it Friday, still have a lot of exploring to do. I'd agree that it's worth the price too, honestly, I've never had a delay that comes remotely close to this thing. If spending $450 gets me a shitload of amazing delays and ends further delay GAS, I consider it money well spent.

Mind if I ask what midi controller you're using? I considered a midi mouse but looks like it'd only be useful for scrolling/selecting presets. Need something that will handle the looper commands in a small package if available. First time I've had to put though into midi options...

That demo is super cool! Better yet, it only touches on about 5-10% of the Timelines capabilities, if that. SO MUCH AWESOME packed into this thing!

I was looking into this as well when considering buying one. I couldn't really find anything. I was hoping there would be something like what T1M makes for eventide pedals. Those midi mouse things don't really seem useful for this application unless you can program any command into the buttons. If they are dedicated to scrolling presets then it doesn't seem like it would work.

So the hard question: liquidate my RE-201 to fund a TL from an upcoming batch? (What's the market on Space Echoes, anyway? Seems all over the place.)

I would liquidate, definitely.

Not sure on the Space, I think a lot of people avoid it due to that crazy price tag. I got a generous discount from a dealer friend, otherwise I would've skipped it for sure. A Timeline and a simpler reverb would be more than enough, imo. The Space kicks ass though, don't get me wrong, but it should for that kind of scratch.

EDIT: Looks like the Disaster Amps stuff will work, he has the 2 and 4 button models, both fairly small. You'd need the larger 6 button to run everything at once. Think I'm leaning towards the 4 button, I think.

Just picked up the Eventide T1M controller, that thing is perfect! And I think you're right about the Midi Mouse, it's only good for quick scrolling/selecting. I don't think the buttons will send any other command types.

A guy over at HCFX showed me this little gizmo from Disaster Area Amps http://disasterareaamps.com/wordpress/. He makes some nice controllers, lot of stuff for the M9. This one has 3 control pairs so you can set it up as follows:

1. Bank up/Bank down
2. Looper Play(dub)/Stop
3. Looper reverse/1/2 speed

Not sure if the Timeline accepts a bypass command via midi, may have to bypass using the pedal itself (or True Bypass looper)??

Waiting to hear back if another footswitch or toggle can be added to easily switch between control pairs. Currently, you select two command pairs by holding footswitches a power up, however, you'd need to repower to change the pairs in and out. Still, this is the most promising thing I've seen. The layout can be changed up a bit too (maybe). I may move the midi port to the side, we'll see soon.

Listened to the demos of this again. Lofi, patterns and reverse all sound incredible.
