Does anyone else listen to metal to relax? I can put on arch enemy or becoming the archetype and fall right to sleep.

i'm on an Eno craze lately. and hammock is a fantastic band that's seriously making me rethink some of the musical directions i've been taking in my recent writing.

+1, absolutely. Much of the 2nd disc of DroneEvil is there as well...

Mogwai often does the job for me, although some of the stuff can get loud and/or chaotic.

There's an Australian band named Ender that has a fantastic s/t EP.

Muhr's Shepherd Blood is incredible if you like majestic trance-y heaviness.

For full disclosure's sake, know I'm also a guy who sometimes will listen to Sunn O))) to relax...
Special low-frequency version.

I do, but I figured it wasn't really what people would be looking for in relaxing music.

It was a running joke when I used to live with roommates that one of them walked into my room one night thinking I was awake and found me face down asleep with this blasting out of my speakers

In the more traditional , not falling asleep to metal sense, I have always enjoyed Arvo Part: Which is very minimalist in nature but very relaxing. Mostly the Orchestra stuff though, although some of the vocal compositions are pretty good.
