Earthbound Audio Supercollider

Also, you could pick up a used Big Muff for $40 or so.
That would give you a good base from which to spring forth into Muffdom.

I don't have any muff type at the moment... but the DMB Pedals Foxy π-rate Fuzz look interesting (not sure if it's really a muff but it sound like it to me).

I dig the classic sounds of the EQD Hoof, but also like the slightly crunchier sound of the IC Muffs.

Both available in the B/S/T!

I like the grit of the IC Muffs. I haven't actually played one yet but I have a DIY kit of one coming in tommorow.

Have you checked out the Devi Ever Hyperion?

i'm not that into the Muff sound; if i was looking for a Muff i'd definitely look at the Hyperion.

If you're looking for something cheap, pick up a used EHX Muff w/ Tone Wicker. Much more usable sounds than the stock Muff. The BYOC Large Beaver is pretty bitchin', too. And cheap, if you find someone selling an assembled one.

Integrated circuits FTW!!! I'm all about the IC/OpAmp Muffs. It may not get as doomy as a green Russian would, but I think it's the 2nd best for that. I did enjoy having a Musket, and then a Twosome, but there was just something missing for me. I built a ICBM after that, and realized that that was the sound I was after.

Beware the Metal Muff, it really isn't a muff at all. It sounds more like a Boss Metal Zone.

I have a Musket now (which I think is based on the Russian), and I have an IC Muff clone on my way to me now. The Musket really is a fantastic muff, but it is a bit pricier than the current EHX Muffs.

Stay away from the metal muffs, they all suck balls! The top boost is a nightmare for your ears!
Get the cheapest reissue nyc muff you can find and give it a try, also get a boost pedal.

My two cents:
- Blackout Effectors Musket v. 2 "Blunderbuss" (to my ears it sounds like a cross between a BM and a RAT)
- Earthquaker Devices Hoof (inspired by the Green Russian Muff)
- Stomp Under Foot Violet Ram's Head
Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space
