Devi Ever feedback loops

Post by proroby »

So I have been trying everything and anything in my TBGD and I haven't found anything I like too much. I've had an utter stutter efore and the same stuff I loved in that doesn't sound too good in this loop(I end up with a lot of high pitched squealing (like I'm sticking a jaguar into my amp at full blast). Any recommendations? I know in stanimal's demo he uses a reverb pedal (I think, might have been delay) but I has no reverb pedal and the delay pedals I tried made high pitched squeals.

The pedal is a beast without using the feedback loop, I just hate not fully utilizing the pedals I have.

Thank you kindly.

Note that the TBGD feedback loop is a parallel loop instead of a serial loop like most feedback loops. So effects that can go full wet or delay only work well in it.

Alright, so only pedals with mix/clean blends work well and u need to use them in full wet/no clean mode?

When I had my TBD I just ran other fuzzes in the loop  , any other kind of pedals gave me mixed results

at one time there was a thread on the Devi forum where people talked about what they'd used in their TBD feedback loops. IIRC the favorites other than fuzzes were analog delays and analog phasers. the only thing i've ever had around the house that got interesting results is other fuzzes; my favorite thing i've found is to use the loop and a second fuzz to produce a pre-tuned feedback tone you can punch in/out with the loop stomp switch. on some settings with the Gate switch ON you can play a picked note which will resolve to the pre-tuned feedback tone as it decays.

the thing i've noticed about the TBD feedback loop is that its response, and the related response of the TBD's fuzz circuit, is extremely sensitive to granular adjustments of the TBD's settings AND all the settings of the box that's in the feedback loop. e.g. you can change the pitch of a feedback tone produced by a fuzz in the loop by adjusting that fuzz's tone or volume knobs. so it might be productive to try some of those boxes in the loop with different settings, e.g. lower output levels.
