I hate hearing how edgy odd future's stuff is from annoying art students. It makes it more obvious that nobody has ever listened to Wu-Tang.

I hate when people try to tell me how REVOLUTIONARY/AMAZING/ZOMGGGG The Edge is with his effects. "But Eric, have you SEEN 'It Might Get Loud'? HIS EFFECTS!!!"

I'd like to push annoying art students off the edgy of a cliff.

That pic looks like it's from a Lady Gaga video or something.
The Edge is dece. His sound was unique for the time and sounds cliched now because of his impact. I can, however, see how doesn't appeal to everyone. He does one thing quite well, because he was one of the progenitors of that one thing. If you want to talk about musicians who aren't nearly as innovative as they are made out to be Kurt Cobain has got to be on top of the list. I'm not saying Nirvana wasn't a great band(they were) and Kurt wasn't an amazing musician, they just 1) weren't all that innovative and 2) had the most horrendous affect on the music world making utter shit like Pearl Jam and Creed acceptable. Too many people took the cleaned up, overly-sterile version of the 80's alt rock sound and throaty vocals and tried to imitate it without having any talent or creativity.
Yes, I just stated that grunge is too clean sounding. Then again it all comes down to taste

i was grumping about it--though not as much as the gf, who's afraid the cold weather will be bad for her bean plants--but then decided to think of at as a second spring and thus as a chance to start again and maybe it won't be as awful this time.

This weather talk should go over in the happiness thread. When it gets over 60 I start feeling like I'm going to have heat stroke.
When my girlfriend isn't home I set our cooling system to 40 degrees and hope she stays out long enough for the place to cool down from the fiery inferno it is usually. When I'm at my desk, I regularly have a few ice-packs on my shoulders and/or head.

Ok lets blame one band when we should blame the record industry for caring more about the almighty dollar than providing quality music
