:brokenrecord: They are the pickups from the J5 telecaster, fender enforcers with WRHB covers

They are indeed Enforcers, quite surprised at how good they sound. I've never heard or tried 'em before now. When mine was ordered and my buddy spoke to the Fender rep, that guy wasn't even sure what PU was being used, said they changed it around a few times and had no system updates. Maybe he was just lazy and didn't feel like looking it up, who knows.

I think the neck is a WRHB and the bridge is an enforcer

I've 180'd on the Mustang Special since hearing of the coil switching. Now I totally want one.

its just one coil wound hotter than the other. still just a humbucker. the P-rails are the same concept but taken to the extreme with different magnets and bobbins on each coil.

I realize this, but it has still got me interested in trying it out.

Just got back from GC where they had all of these. I can confirm that the Pawn Shop Mustang is in fact the tits. The other are awesome, really well made instruments, but the Mustang is the pick of the litter. It was really really light, and the pick up switching options are definitely useful and functional. Sometimes coil-splitting can be a real letdown (I'm looking at you, Epiphone Nighthawk), but it seems very well executed in the Mustang. The GC guy said they weren't sure how many more they would get in due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, but he may have been just trying to get me buy it. Unfortunately I did not have eight hundred dollars to spend

Summary: The Pawn Shop Series are hclapp approved :thumb: :thumb:

Summary #2: Pawn shop series? More like King shop series. 4.5 Hamburgers.

The Mustang is tits to the max! PU are super useable in every mode, I'm so used to ridiculous volume drop with coil taps. Light as a feather but sounds line a fuckin' monster, manages classic Fender tones plus hugeness not common with Fender. Lake Placid blue is fuckin' gorgeous, sparkle style!

Also, you can squeeze GC down to $615 on a Pawn Shop model, which is more than fair.

I hear good reports on the pickup setup that are encouraging, but I still want the trem back.

Yes on basses. Short scale, especially, with a neck mudbucker especially. I'm at present a bass-owning guitarist, but I would be all over that.
