Everything I've read on forums points to the CE-5. I've never heard of any more desirable qualities in the other CE models, you know, like how people prefer the DD-3 and stuff.

Am I correct that the CE-2 was analog and that somewhere down the road they switched to digital?
I have chewed up so many chorus pedals:
Currently have an R&D CE clone that I love and a Digitech Chorus factory which is suprisingly awesome once you figure out what the knobs do.
Also have an 80's 10 series Ibanez Digital.
For a good cheap chorus though the small clone is hard to beat: And modder friendly

The Small Clone is very decent for the price, sounds far better than any Boss offering I've ever tried.

Neo Clone to save board space and get better tones than the nano Small Clone.
Fender Starcaster Chorus is extremely cheap (<$10), mod friendly, and based on some Boss Chorus. I forget which.

Strongly Agree (took a survey today- still enjoying the language)

This thing is cool too and I'm kinda GASing for it, but I don't use chorus that much:

Thanks! I've never really used a chorus too much since the 80's Rush influenced days, but some of my bands newer songs might do good to have a bit of chorus. I like the form of the Boss pedals but i'll consider the small clone if I can find one at a reasonable price. That mini clone looks cool too.

Boss Super Chorus is the workingman's chorus. So says Proguitarshop demos, so it must be true!
Also, we're pretty big here on laying out options for people and letting them choose for themselves.

I used to have a CH-1, it was good but quite subtle. Even cranked it didn't get overly crazy.
Sold it and got a BBE Mind Bender, and haven't look back. I recommend those most highly.

My bandmate had a CE-20 and we both really hated it. It was the lamest chorus ever..
I have a CE-3 and I don't like it very much either. I've heard good things about the CE-5 though and the CE-2 is pretty classic.

I'd definitely avoid boss altogether and go the EHX route.
