How to use favorite switch with El Capistan?

Hey guys I just got a favorite switch for my El Capistan (thanks bronzetalon!) and I can't figure out how to use it. I read the instructions on the Strymon site but I'm confused.

I'm pretty sure I did exactly what the instructions said.

The switch is a T1M favorite switch and I'm using the proper TRS cable.

One thing I don't understand about the instructions is that it tells you to hold down the bypass and tap tempo switches while powering up. How do you power it up? Just unplug it and plug it back in?

Ya, than save your setting by holing the bypass switch. At that point change the pedal to something completely different then try engaging the fave switch to see if its working for ya.

Hmm. Is there something you have to do with the fave switch while holding down the bypass. Does the fave switch have to be on or off or anything?

I don't remember try saving a preset with the led on and with it off.

I've tried everything I can think of. On, off, I tried switching the fave switch on while holding down the bypass.. I tried it with the El Cap bypassed and not bypassed.

I'm sure I'm just missing something really stupid. I just can't think of anything.
