As per my unprompted tangent into nostalgialand on the Rat thread elsewhere, I've been dusting out my Cordelia's Dad albums. A little discordant Appalachian folk music (main themes: sex, guilt & death!) always seems appropriate to me in the fall.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

I like what I've heard of Silversun, but haven't done enough exploration...

Swell Maps, "Let's Build a Car" - IMHO Birmingham's finest, and for me the best post-punk band; I love the fuzz on the opening of this song!

...And I can't get enough of the Left Banke's gorgeous baroque pop song "Pretty Ballerina" - no fuzz whatsoever just a sweet sweet tune

Tonight I decided to listen to Kaleidoscope by Souxsie and the Banshees again.
This is the album that made me want to use a flanger... I'm not a flanger person.
