Metallica / Lamb Of God

Post by sev »

Is anybody going (/gone) to see this tour?
I'm going tomorrow night.

It'll be my third time seeing LOG (who kick fucking ass...and who, along with Mastodon, helped rekindle my love for metal. )
It'll be my third time seeing Metallica. Haven't seen them since '91.....but their new album is mostly decent (finally), so I figure it's as good a time as any to check them out again.
The Sword is opening too (stoner rock BONUS).

Maybe Devi should put out a metal distortion pedal.
The 'Metal Meiser'? :idk:

"Soda Meise the kids" wouldn't be too long.

And if it had a Scoop the Mids switch... put in the right place...

Sadly not catching the upcoming tour even though I dig all of the supporting bands. Spent my concert cash on the slipknot (I know :idk: ) /trivium/coheed show. I'm a huge coheed dork.

Metallica still put on a good show...saw them during the st. anger tour and thankfully they barely played any songs from it. Mr. Trujillo is a beast.

Show was last night.
In short, LOG kicked ass. They may have been too metal for Metallica's watered down audience.
They were more at home playing with Slayer or Megadeth (the last two shows I saw them at.

Metallica sounded really good. They didn't play anything from the Load/St. Anger years. YAY!!
Trujillo truly impressed me. He makes Newstead seem like a mediocre bassist.

I really had a problem with the crowd though.
WAY too many drunk knucklehead jocks in the audience, who clearly aren't even fans of music, let alone Metallica.
Oh, I take that back. They LOVE Enter Sandman....and a couple other songs from the Black Album that they heard on the radio.
I could go on and on, but I won't.

Can't wait for the new LOG in February.
