if i wanted to audition for a bass scholarship for a college, what kind of pieces would i play? i'd have to audition via recording so i wouldn't do any of the sight reading stuff... i don't really know what i should play, hahaha. here are the college's guidelines:
Prepare two or three pieces demonstrating a variety of tempi and showing your ability with both rapid and lyrical music passages.
Select literature appropriate for state solo competitions — i.e., do not simply sing or play your line from a band, choral, or orchestral piece.
i'm kinda clueless.

King Crimson - Sleepless
Disclaimer: Despite what this video might suggest, there aren't that many females that like King Crimson on the planet, let alone at one concert. Playing this will not make girls like you

Um... well, the OP happens to be "of the female persuasion"... so let's see what she thinks...
i think slapping for an audition would make them laugh at me. plus look at all the happy girls at that concert. at least one of them has to want in the bassist's underwear.
