I believe the Gibson in question is an ES 325 or something like that.

It's the way of the world, band uses previously-unloved/relatively obscure guitar, price of said guitar rockets due to tenuous link.

Jaguars went up in value when people decided they liked Kurt Cobain.

The price of Airlines skyrocketed when the White Stripes got big.

The vintage market is pretty much the fault of guys like Clapton, using those then out of production Sunburst Les Pauls
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.

^^ That looks pretty damn cool! Like an offset Tele/Hi Flyer design... semi-hollow body, what looks like they might be P90s, a cool-looking pickguard and a tasty little bit of chrome...

AWESOME! :!!!:

It's getting hot in here
so take off all your clothes

:!!!:

I'm very Excited about this guitar. It was great how Boot took up all my ideas in a graceful way and developed what may be called a common vision.

It is this:

Model Shirley:

Hollow Body Offset with Mosrite PU Alignment (Pickups made to be a crossover between P90 and Jazzmaster PU's)
Cherry body with Pear top
Maple neck with Persimmon fretboard
One button momentary boost, one button mute

I didn't think I would like the offset f holes, but they look great.

That was one of the design elements I definitely wanted. Ever since I held one of these Framus Hollywood Customs in my hands in a guitar shop in Cologne I wanted one. The offset f-holes were just pure genius for me. Also it played very well. Here's a pic:

So, but like two years ago, Framus finished the production line. The model is now only available as a (real) custom order. Price went up about 1000 Euro and I knew I'd never get one unless I'd become a criminal or something. So when I started to talk to Boot this was the base design we began with. His first sketch actually only had one f-hole but I insisted it should have two. Am I right?

Here's a pic of the original vintage model, the Television, that the modern Hollywood Custom is fashioned after:
