Why not just buy an Epi or Squier if you're on a budget? For the price that you'd spend on a counterfeit, you can get a guitar that isn't made of wood shavings and toe nail clippings.

Well thats the thing, from what iv read they are not all made of wood shavings, toe nail clippings & lead-paint.
i have several chinese gibson les pauls. they are of good wood. i love mine but they have all needed some work rather it be the nut or dress the frets. i also change the hardware and pick ups which i would do on a epiphone as well. so to me, they seem about the same as a epi. however if it is shite...you're stuck with it. i wouldn't buy one unless you're comfortable doing enuff work to make it the way you want it because it mos def will need some work.

I take back my last comment, then. I never would have guessed they were made of real wood.
