That's because it's the only one. When the Dropout is "off" the circuit simply routes the signal in, through a loop, and back out...as if it wasn't even there. When engaged, however, it removes the loop and sends it exclusively to the delay's effect loop. This allows me to basically unplug a pedal from my chain, put it in the delay's effect loop (meaning only the delay's repeats are affected by the effect), and put it back...all with one simple push of a button. The reason for this is because I like my modulation, but I also like to have modulation in my delay's loop. It was either buy two of everything I wanted to use in the delay's loop, unplug and plug and move pedals to and fro all the time, OR...create this beast I call the Dropout.
When you look at the Dropout, the bottom right is IN, above that is the SEND for the loop, above that is the RETURN for said loop. On the left bottom we have the OUT, and above that is a TRS jack to match the TRS jack in the delay (send & return achieved with one stereo patch). It just toggles the Dropout's loop from my signal path —TO— the AD900's effect loop —AND BACK.

Pedal Risers: http://www.stagetrixproducts.com, dig em, but they have a big footprint, about the size of a big muff.
