ive used mustangs, stocks, and tune o matics

they all had there issues but not sitar type bizz luckily

i liked the tune o matic but then the trem stopped working
then tried mustangs they were better for the trem
annnnnnnnnd the stocks were somewhere in between

The problem with tune-o-matics is that the radius is all wrong. String spread gets wonky and your action never feels right afterwards.

not sure on this: the jmascis has 7,5 fret radius and a tom in it and works really fine (i have two of them)

I've got one on my Jaguar (and a Bigsby ) and it works fine. However, it was originally drilled for TOM bridge posts. I'm not sure if there's some sort of conversion posts for JM's and Jags with normal bridges.

Ok, I tweaked my BT a bit yesterday. At the time, I thought it did nothing, but today the neck had a chance to settle and all that, and it worked great. Here's what I did:

First, I played around with the saddles. Got intonation set, adjusted the heights on them to a basic, medium height. the action isn't shredder low, but it's still lower than my Strat.

Then, I loosened the truss a hair. It has a slight curve to the neck - not a lot, but enough.

After that I checked the intonation again, and made some slight tweaks to the saddle heights - just to even them out to the radius a bit better.

It plays like butter again.

I generally do setups on my guitars a few times a year, and since I've had the JM for a while now, it was due for one after settling into my climate and such. .
