Loctite on CHK CHK BOOM footswitch?

Postby nbabmf » Fri Nov 05, 2010 2:12 am

I'm swapping the momentary switch for latching one... and I can't get the damn thing off!

I love the smell of solder in the morning.

yeah. there's loctite on the switches.

every pedal i've ever owned, boutique or mass produced, has suffered from loose nuts which always seems to cause problems at the worse time. usually at practice or a gig when you don't have the right tool handy. you know how it goes, you grab what ever's around and then you scratch the paint or or worse the jack or switch spins around endlessly inside breaking wires or solder connections.

i loctite all my stuff so no one ever has to worry about that.

I had to destroy the switch to get it off. My face looked like this haha

It's red Loctite, isn't it? I don't even use red on my Harley. I use blue and torque to spec so I'm protected from bolts vibrating loose, but can also remove them down the road when I need to do maintenance.
