Will there ever be another tremolo in the works?

Post by Snufkino »

Something with external volume control based on a nice and throbby sine wave that you can shape to go from /|/|/| to |\|\|\ or maybe a bigger pedal incorporating a switch to change to a soft edged square wave mode aswell? And of course in metallic/glittery green. That's the most important thing.

Just sayin' since I need a syrupy EQD trem to go with my match with my gorgeous Ghost Echo. :duck:

I'm holding out for the day when someone makes a tremolo based on the Gemini II. Complete with the switch at the end of the depth control to make it a square wave.

I need a new tremolo - I would be all over an EQD trem with sine and square wave.

Like this one?

EDIT: :?:

That sounds like a vox repeat percussion style trem which the hummingbird is based on. I think the wave shape is a really harsh, fast sloping sawtooth but don't quote me on that. It's unique, but not something I like personally. At least not yet.

I'd love to see a more upmarket and amp-like version of the EHX pulsar with sine instead of triangle, a more rounded-edged square wave, a volume control and a much better quality depth control. That'd be like a goldilocks tremolo pedal. Not to simple, not to complicate, but just right. So in other words a pedal that will never exist. An EQD sine wave with speed, depth, volume and shape control would do nicely though, and would compliment the hummingbird. One harsh trem, one softer.

Yes, that one. Although that thing looks like it's significantly less beat up than mine.

I guess the Hummingbird does do that huh? I meant, more specifically, that I wish someone would clone that specific circuit in a pedal form. I would by 2 so I had a backup.

Every time I play through the Gemini, I always think it's the best tremolo I've ever heard. I just think they really got it right on that amp. Same goes for the reverb. So dark and almost plate-like. Great amp.

I just took my TR-2 off my board, because it's not really doing it for me, so there's room for something new now.

I know what you mean about the Boss TR-2. It's got some nice sounds to it, but doesn't get quite deep enough and it's a pain without a volume boost.

I just noticed that the Gemini is in the background at the start of the PGS demo so I assume the trem inside it is based on the vox in some way. I've got a vox clone on the way so I'll be able compare. So much for it "not being my style".

As for a possible second EQD trem, what are the other amp trems out there? Fender have two I think? Brownface and Blackface? I know one is a sloped sine wave, and I assume the other is a sine wave. There must be an old amp that had a square wave like you can hear on tracks like Nancy Sinatra's 'Bang Bang'.

And does anyone know if this is an amp-based trem? :idk:
