So BC108 transistors and some tricks added on yet another Fuzz Face (though, yeah, the Fuzz Face is technically a Mark I.V clone). There is also a BC108 (so non-germ) Range Master derivative in similar housing.

Should we applaud them for not going the AI route and letting an unqualified engineer make the aesthetic decisions?
It's been my experience, that 98% of engineers hate dealing with visual design and graphics. Earthquaker Jamie being one of the rare exceptions.

i don’t think that layout is the product of an engineer; rather, i think whoever’s doing the production for Vox in

My kid is going to lose his mind about that.
Looks like it has some kind of sequencer, too.

Re: 2026 playlist(s)
I've updated the OP with additional playlists, now that more stuff is leaking. Eventually, I'll split up and reorganize the pedal list---modulation/dirt/delay+reverb or something. That way you won't have to be searching for a specific video in a list of 80+ videos.

This is my favorite software release of 2026 so far---Novagrid, a four-lane FX sequencer from Mario Nieto (maker of the Harmony Bloom sequencer).

SOMA Enigma (prototype preview)

ASM Leviasynth 16-voice synth (desktop module or 5-octave keyboard) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4AXFVLvli4 (all sounds, no talking)
https://www.ashunsoundmachines.com/post ... og-filters
*shipping in February

Beetronics - Pollinator Hazee Delay ($249 USD) This is a digital delay with modulation pre-delay, so you get tremolo/filter applied to your dry signal and then that modulation is echoed. *ships February 17th

Listening to the OBNE Parting, it kind of sounds like a Ricorda crossed with the Crushturnal crossed with the Pefftronics Super Rand-O-Matic. It's definitely more than just a MOOD-esque glitch pedal.

Stylophone On-The-Fly Performance Sequencer (no price yet)Parting is a glitch pedal made in collaboration with Emily Hopkins. It combines chance-based delay or reverb, modulations, degradation effects, and randomized clock changes, to give pleasant surprises at each turn of a knob. Happy with many different signal sources, consider it your ready-made ambient texturizer.
For integration into many different rigs, Parting has:
Stereo in and out with analog dry through
Trails or true bypass switching
Presets
Expression control over every knob
MIDI control over everything in the pedal, including MIDI clock in and out for external syncing

Cheaper than the other stuff around that class.
The AC Noises Ricorda is $399/ €449 (no MIDI). The MOOD MKII is $399. At $329, it's got stereo & MIDI for people who need presets for touring. I'm definitely intrigued. If they're $250ish used, that will also be way below the price of pedals like the Onward and Microcosm.

Re: 2026 playlist(s)
$329, god help me, isn't that awful if it's really, really good. getting the Generation Loss got me over the Horribly Expensive Pedals Hump. though not so far that i could buy one of those $500+ Dumble things that just came out. i could buy an entire Marshall Origin 50 used for that.

Re: 2026 playlist(s)
my interest in Dumble-izing has nothing to do with that shit at all. i'm a huge fan of David Lindley. i might get the Mojo Hand DMBL and see how i like it...i've always had good luck with his stuff. but it's definitely not worth $450 to me. i don't even know if that sound would work for me, or if it did if whether i'd actually enjoy using it.

Re: 2026 playlist(s)
Well, the future is here, gang. (well at least a sneak peek)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioyu_vPKxQg (intro)
https://polyend.com/endless/
Polyend just announced the inevitable. For $300, you can enter an AI-supported virtual Playground, where you describe an effect and the platform cranks it out for you.
So that sounds exciting.
Here are some cons: it's got 3 fucking virtual pots. I can't speak for anyone else, but the pedal of my dreams needs far more than 3 virtual pots. It seems to arrive basically naked. You get a $300 mini computer and $20 in tokens. If you want a custom-machined plate, that will set you back an additional $20. It seems you can download some effects for free, but effects with custom plates will set you back $20 each.
Secondly, it costs money to create new effects with the AI tool, because data centers aren't free.
There's definitely value here in certain cases. Instead of buying a $300 effect that does one niche thing, you could just design your own in the Playground environment.
The biggest negatives for me: 3 knobs is shit, it's $300 and it runs one effect at a time (you're not necesarily replacing more expensive pedals at this rate), someone's going to do the same thing more cheaply in 3-12 months. I've already seen others teasing similar platforms for plugins. If you can use AI to create code for people with no programming experience, then something that's arguably better and cheaper is just around the corner.
I'm listening to these demos and they sound nice, but I don't want a drawer of $20 plates, that I have to swap out.

It's been my experience, that AI never makes a masterpiece on the first go-round. You'd likely need to make several requests to fine-tune your dream effect. If it takes 8 tries, does that mean $8 at $1 per attempt? Or can you just keep tweaking and tweaking, then you're charged at the conclusion? (we'll see)How much does it cost to make effects?
If you are a programmer, it doesn’t cost a dime. If you want to use the Playground, it depends on the complexity of the effect and the number of iterations. A simple delay could cost $1.00 or $2.00, whereas a complex granular looper might cost up to $5.00. $20 of Tokens come with the purchase of a new Endless.

I could see how this could be rewarding---$5 a pop, and 500 downloads, you could make $2,500 off your radical delay plugin, which you conceptualized in less than 20 minutes with no coding experience. The unfortunate part is that you get 3 virtual pots and hidden secondary functions. Hidden functions in the footswitches really limits the appeal of these effects for many people.Does it cost anything to download Community Effects?
No. Anything shared with the community is free to download. Polyend will regularly add new effects. You own what you create, so you can sell patches instead of sharing them freely.
