That he died early-ish at 63 but in the retirement age bracket is spinning my head a bit. I guess he was 27-ish when the Stone Roses’ debut album came out 36 years ago.
And that debut was closer in time to the Beatles’ debut than it is to today. Makes me feel like I’m turning to dust any moment.

i'm almost 69, so to me that's young.

It is still going young. But sometimes it’s hard for me to wrap my head around the reality of passage of time and much has passed on my watch or neglect.

yeah. earlier today i discovered via a Twitter post that Neil Young dropped an archive release of the show that was made into my favorite bootleg from my youth, 2/1/71 Dorothy Chandler Pavilion aka I'm Happy That You All Came Down. i literally wore out two vinyl copies of this in the 70s so i was chuffed, but when i listened to the linked track i didn't know where i was for a minute. i listened to that so much back then that it just took me away to somewhere i didn't recognize. it makes me slightly ill that it was over 50 years ago. i'm still not used to the 21st century.

I was 21 in 2000 and I still don't think much of the 21st century... I blame republicans and tech-ionaires....

I remember everyone guffawing at the conceit in the Matrix that the late 90s was the peak of human civilization to base the computer-generated reality off of. Please hook me up and use me as a battery.

i would roll it back to the early 90s...i heard "Right Here Right Now" on the radio the other day and i cried because i miss that brief moment of optimism so much. only time in my life there was any hope at all.
