This manual is going to be updated version of GarageBand. I don’t remember all that changed over the last decade or so.

I’m sure some of the same concepts but lots has changed.

One word, pretty much regardless of OS for cheap recording: Reaper.

It's eternal nagware (the trial NEVER ends). Pay for it if you want, but you don't have to.
