Yeah, I was given that one and don’t love it. The most sense I can make of that whole vibe is adding the Jose Arredondo diode-clipping mod vibe to a stock non-master-volume Marshall—there’s some boost, but the main distortion character addition is some high frequency hash and maybe a bit more broken glass. So a hair metal boost. The best sounding demos I’ve heard, including MXR/Dunlop’s, lean into this.
Which isn’t how I’ve tried to use mine, and maybe that’s part of why it lies fallow. With the tone down to make it less harsh and hasty and hollow, it got pretty unimpressive. But it didn’t seem worth the effort to ditch it for the $45 going rate.

DS-1 boosting fuzz is also a good one
This is a zone that has been opening my eyes. I need to get it out and mess with it in a treble-booster/exciter mode like I’ve gotten into for low-gain Rat use. I could see that maybe being workable for me.
