Re: What's your fuzz about?!
So, in the same burst of guit-playin' that would lead to me accidentally acquiring a set of viola strings, after I first snapped a string I went digging through some old boxes to see if I had any laying around. I found several sets with that just had the thick/wound strings left in 'em, natch, but nothing of use to me.
But I did find this in one of the boxes:

I only vaguely remember acquiring this probably more than a decade ago. An acquaintance who was thinning out their gear basically just handed it to me. I didn't have too much use for it at the time, I was generally playing acoustic and probably slowed way down on playing guitar entirely not long after. But maybe I have some use for it now?
Dragged it out, plugged it in and it works fine! It does the thing it's supposed to do! It's less over the top than the cheapie Cuvave fuzz I got this summer (though that one sounds gnarly when you crank it up) so this one probably "fits in the mix" better for some casual use.
Then I snapped the G string on my guitar and had to take another break.
