colour checks out!
(i just searched "green ringer" within canada)
the most affordable way to try a green ringer out.
Even a local used EQD Tentacle was listed at twice the price.
Thanks again for the suggestion. Gup Tech seems to have some
affordable fuzz clones. I'll see how this one goes.
I'm looking forward to fuzz-stack fun and shenanigans.friendship wrote:My friend built it for me, but it's a clone of the original Dan Armstrong. Just on/off, no knobs. Or fuzz face with parametric EQ pedal? Parked wah pedal?
Would an MXR "Cry Baby Q Zone" do what you're after?
No experience or affiliation with this option:

Warpsmasher knew somereally cheap thing thats supposed to be nice. You could get some PEQ for it.
The MF Drive plan sounds pretty solid. That's how I use fuzz faces cause they are not that fuzzy so they sound better just ripping and overdrive sound. I like Fredric FX's fuzz face. It has both negative supply germ and regular silicon.
EDIT: Big tone music brewery makes 2 fuzzfaces with metal zone EQ

The B-stock green ringer clone I ordered from Gup TechChankgeez wrote:Please, let us know what you think.Seance wrote: I ordered a B-stock from Gup Tech. That seems like

arrived today.
It looks like (and perhaps is) the one in this video:
https://youtu.be/-yWlwJAcVXs

The Gup Tech website says the Poulp is a clone of a EQD Tentacle, which
is a clone of a Dan Armstrong Green Ringer. It is a mini-size pedal.
I couldn't really see much of the circuitboard because it has two
pieces of fabric tape over it (Poulp goop?). But looks relatively clean
and has "Gup Tech" printed on the board for the footswitch.
I haven't recorded anything with it, but I enjoyed it with several different
pedals (mostly fuzz). I liked it with my Moof MF-Trem.
Usual advice about neck pickup with guitar tone knob rolled down
worked well. But in certain combos of fuzz it wasn't necessary. So far
all my experiments were with pedals running into the Poulp. Next I'll try
Poulp first and/or a Poulp sandwich.
Although I generally don't like Big Muff type pedals, the Poulp did
do some interesting things to my Barber Trifecta. The tone/sludge
controls brought out some interesting things, as did the three different
Big Muff circuit toggle positions. In many settings I found a lot of sustain.
In some settings it was almost like two guitars—one low and rumble the other
a hail of clang and sizzle on top.
It was also a lot of fun to run the Dr. Scientist BitQuest into the Poulp.
Pitch down plus Poulp was nice. But so was Ring Mod. Don't know if
I'll be able to replicate it, but I also found one Ring Mod setting that
allowed each note to sound like 2/3 note chords. Playing more than
one string at a time was sometimes a mess, but the combo made nice.
Lots of spitty gristle running BA Fuzz Mutant into Poulp. Also a lot of
fun running Montreal Assembly Your & You're into it. Lots of sustain
and crazy decay with Y&Y, also highly interesting changing the tone
on the Y&Y for various levels of crazy.
Running my ProCo Rat into the Poulp sounded great. Also allowed for
setting the tone on the Rat to get more octave up from the Poulp without
having to lower the tone knob on the guitar.
I hope to record some clips. But so far it's been a lot of fun.

For some reason I forgot to TEST it with my Pest Tattern.
I'll have to remember to do that next time.

I thought for a second the B in "B-stock" stood for Bandage.

The whole concept of "influencers" is reprehensible.vidret wrote:All this influencer talk is getting to me

What's your fuzz about and how does your part garden grow?
My fuzz is about and around the note. Sometimes it is the note.
But intermodulated. More or less aiming for less is more but wallowing in excess.

Re: What's your fuzz about?!
I am going to concentrate on finalizing a new version soon. After making the 1st version I wanted to take a break from that circuit and put out a hyper fuzz variant but got bored of that and started messing with this circuit again. There's something so addicting about this particular circuit and I keep discovering new and exciting sounds, thought I was close to finalizing all of the options and then a couple of days ago I discovered a straight up RAT like option that is pretty glorious that I feel like I need to include. Likely going to do a small number of them in ridiculously huge boxes with a few extra options and then more of a production model that's more pedal board friendly. I'm always in slow motion building wise because my job sucks up so much time but I think this version will be much better than the original version as there will be many more sounds to be had and a nice active tone control that spices shit up. Someday soon (ish)!vidret wrote:All this influencer talk is getting to me, I wanna try one now.LaoWiz wrote:Dude, I'm going to have to get you a new one when they are ready.
