def changes that are going to be made. there's a bunch of stuff that's needs to go in the case, some things that are definitely going or that are at least up in the air. Found a deal on the Nebulaev2, so that'll have to do a fight to the death with Morphagene - knowing me I'll either keep them both or they'll both be gone by mardi gras. Looking forward to trying out the boog 55 modules - the model 15 app has been a endless well of harsh glitchy low end that the subharmonicon hasn't been able to replicate (or that I haven't been able to coax out of it)

Anyone else using the A-149 combo? Seems incredibly finicky to get anything out of it. I've more or less given up on it at this point, replacing it with Pachinko and/or wogglebug. I'm kinda hoping 2021 is the year of focus and downsizing, but we know how realistic that is :animal:

My dude that is quote the tower. Wogglebug is basically the best module ever though, so highly recommend.
good deals are here.

downsizing GOOD!

this is where i'm at when the Reverse Landfill, ModBap and QuBit stuff hits -

Image

i like the Spectral DEVASTATOR, it's a harsher, angrier MS20, but unsure if that or QPas will stay there.

murrrr. i want to like Moog stuff? it's fucking MOOG. but... i don't. i really, really don't. i hate their sequencers, i don't like the small super limiting feel of the DFAM and Mother32, the different voltage for melodics... no. just no.

not my jam.

There's things I don't entirely love about the Mother 32 and the sequencer is very meh (I almost always play it like a keyboard / drone / play or sequence it with something else). But as a nice synth voice in that form factor at that price. :idk: Sound does it for me.

If we're posting.....this is where I'm at......

:picard:

I really need to tear it all apart and rearrange the layout.
sliding nuts don't exactly make me want to rearrange.

Not a fan of sliding nuts. Probably would be if I was making cases haha

Coldest Brightest Reflection Of Our Closest Star - it sounded good? i guess? i used mines a bit, just didna fall in love with the sound enough to get over the stuff that annoyed me.

kinda miss the No Coast actually. that thing sounds GOOD.

Gas Station Twizzler King - lol. SO MUCH SPACE. GET FREAKY YO.

Sliding Nuts - i don't understand the dislike at all. i never had drilled rails? fixed rails? tappy crappy pinhole butts? until i got some Pods.

EW. no. no THANK you. it's as much or more of a hassle to move stuff. to me, way more. if i have say a 12 hp module i'm putting in that requires 4 screws, i put an extra 2 or 3 in between those on each rail. so if yank it and put 3 4 hps modules in it's place, got the screws ret to go. being able to slide things around is gooooood.

i dunno. way more mah marmalade.

annnnnd fuck fuck fuckity fuck FUCK.

i like the Erica Synth DB01. it's fun. first fuckaround -

annnnnnd they just announced the RDJ input Aphex Bass-station.

FUCK.

PRE-ORDERED.

.... also, have a Waldorf Iridium in the way. woot woot.

I'm planning on sitting with what I have for now and see where it goes. Figure out what I need to make what I want.
I don't really have any GAS.
I'm still exploring modules and what I can do with those module combos.

I was thinking about getting something else drum related though.
Crater or maybe the Akemie's Taiko to compliment the Dinky's.....

Sliding nuts aren't bad until you put 2 modules in place of 1......and all the extra nuts are at the end of the row......that's when it sucks.

Yeah, I'm pretty tempted by that AFX Bass Station; I really like the idea of the AFX mode and did not know it existed until now. No idea if it would really be something I'd use or not, but I like the idea

yeah. i mean. i. um. i might have a tattoo of RDJ and Bjork on my arm. so. like. KINDA NEED TO GRAB ONE. EVEN IF IT SUCKS AND I NEVER USE IT.

SUPER glad it looks. like. GOOD.

did NOT know that Ricky Tinez works at Novation.

i like his vidjas a LOT.

I DUNNO MAN. I JUST MAKE SURE THERE'S ALWAYS SCREW GRABBY SQUARE BUGGERS IN BETWEEN EACH MODULE.

plus. at the end of a module installs, they fucking sit NEXT to each other. no spaces from weird manufacturer measurements.

Still working with this, still only have one VCA (THE HORROR), still over the moon with it:

Image

Allegedly I have 4 or 5 HP "left", but... it's the best drone box I've ever used and I don't think I need anything else*? Been having a lot of fun with super slow wogglebug/brainseed sequences for "the same, but not the same" sequences.

*except for maaaaaaybe a Skiis at somepoint in the next few years but VCAs are gross as a rule  or the Erica 3hp Polivoks filter. That looks interesting. :idk:

Damn it, I really need to stop watching videos of this thing. I absolutely love the idea of sequencing the AFX mode to make a weird glitchy drum beat. Ugh, I need to find something to sell

soooooo.... i meannnnnnn..... i am SUPER excited about everything about that little thing. because. you know. RDJ.

but if one has the OG Bass Station II, there's an update that does the AFX mode i think?

whichhhhhhh the Elektron stuff does? NOT SHITTING ON THE AFX STATION. I WANNNT.

but. while it's a cool idea, Trig Locks have been around for a hinute?

That's true, but trig locks seem like a lot more programming than the AFX mode? With trig locks you have to go and edit the specific step, whereas AFX mode let's you assign different sounds to each key? Maybe I'm not understanding it right, but the AFX mode seems a lot more immediate.

there's the Parameter Locks, that let you change different.... parameters... per step. but then the Trig Locks you can grab from the Sound Pool and assign different sounds per step.

it works differently on different Elektron boxes, like on the Cycles you can do that with saved sounds/presets, so you could have one track doing kick, snare and hats, as long as none hit the same time.

so make a bunch of vaguely related hits either in the box, or in something like Live, drop them in to an Elektron that does samples, load them in the Sound Pool for that project, get jiggly with it.

again, noooot talking shits. i have ALL the Loose Butt Tangle Steps for the AFX Statton Island.
