Battery power

Post by phantasmagorovich »

So,

a couple of weeks ago I got this MK1 Tonebender style pedal that is battery only. And I stuck an alkaline in it. Now it does not at all sound like I expected it to and so far I'm not convinced. It's not awful but not great as well. Could a different battery be the remedy?

my roger mayer axis fuzz is funny with batteries... When i bought it i was given a battery for it which was zinc chloride or whatever ( think the guy was more surpised to see a 16 year old boy buying such an expensive pedal) and it sounded so much better with that than alkaline batteries.

Fuzz is funny that way some sound good with alkaline and some don’t.

I found CVS non alkaline heavy duties and those off brand $1.00 store batteries sound best, or the Ratshack carbons if you can find them.
