EHX Ring Thing is killer. It does everything the whammy does, is polyphonic so can do chords, and has a lo/hi pass filter.

Yes. If you don't need polyphonic then you can use analog octavers which sound better [to me] and there are a bunch out there like: Boss OC-2, EHX octave multiplexer, guytone makes one I want to try, MXR makes a good bass one, it should work on guitar...

If the Gughuuughg were a production model I would jump on that in a second :drool: . Also, went and tried out an OC-3 today, wasn't quite what I was looking for, but I did play an MXR Bluebox that got pretty close to what I think I'm looking for.
