I am so late on this but, after watching the demos, the CBA Fuzz Factory could have been the first CBA pedal i'd be interested besides the Blooper. That being said i'd rather have two or three different simpler fuzzes than a single one with all those knobs and switches as it would give me instant option paralysis.

I think there's some sort of formula to ILF threads that somehow the more controversial ones always inevitably lead to EGC complaint

This is exactly why I don't think Zvex really believes the CBA FF is in direct competition with their own boxes, except for maybe the Fuzz Factory 7, which has primo germanium and a rotary switch and is around the same price, give or take. And if anyone doesn't already know, Joel was an engineer years ago for Vex, designed the Instant Lo-Fi Junky, left & built CB & released the Warped Vinyl, etc., and that's why I see the collab here less as competition and more as another available option for people who want to go to those lengths (as well as a just a cool thing to do). Zvex's designs are popular for a variety of reasons (simplicity & ease of use, with the ability to go off the deep end), as are CB's (deep tweakability, presets, etc.). I've owned three types of Fuzz Factory pedals, and I do wish I had at least kept one around (spam can always wins, however).

Me. Got a Zoom Ultra Fuzz 20 years ago and called it close enough. That pedal taught me that I’d like presets, tho.

Same here + Vex being a dick on HCFX back in the day, especially behind the scenes. Feel no desire to own any of his stuff, even though I like a lot of it sound-wise.

Anyway I agree this makes total sense. TBH it's the first chase bliss format dirt pedal where I have thought that all the presets and bells and whistles actually made any sense? Because of oscillations and the fuzz factory being really versatile. Vs like, an overdrive pedal lol

Oh I had both a fuzz factory and a UF-1. I would not mind having another of either again tbh, excellent fuzzes. The zoom might even be better, idk. I also dont know why I sold it. Idiotic pig man

Oh, I still have the UF-1. Still great. I just always want the bigger crayon box.
