I totally agree with this. It’s a great sounding pedal and a “tweakers delight” but tbqh I think they added too many knobs to make it functional. The “intelligent ring mod” is a great idea. But they could have ditched a couple of knobs entirely or made them switches (like sine/square wave) and the blend/volume pots are confusing as fuck.Gone Fission wrote:My big problem with the Ringmaster is that I still don’t fully get the operating principles. Everything I find ends up being accidental. Without a method of attack, I would have been better off with a Frequency Analyzer or Minifooger. But I’ll keep at it. Maybe some dedicated woodshedding time would help.
I think my main issue is there is too much crammed into a tiny package and knobs that need access (like the frequency) are the bottom pot and hard to switch on the fly. Plus the type is impossible to read. I found I was always using a flashlight as my basement is not well lit. That told me that there were too many options.
As opposed to the Moogerfooget which is cleanly laid out and easy to use, and the Randy which is so simple. Those two are staying and the Ringmaster goes.
