RE: Posture Stuff... big fan of Jeremy Ethier's channel. He focuses on a lot of muscle imbalance stuff. Bro has a great physique that is very attainable through some hard work.

Running for the sake of running is the best. Run to feel happy. Because it's instrumental for your sense of life being in the right place.

This is the best.

Goals and improving and shit is nice but completely secondary to the above.

That's how I see it anyways.

Without being totally boring I can't enumerate how much running has improved my life. Also, it's super convenient. Next year I get to an age where I can actually get a county gym membership for $75 a year, which includes a pool. I'm sure I'll join but really, a 15-minute drive each way to hopefully get a slow lane -- because I've never done it as a sport -- vs. just stepping outside? And the satisfaction from being able to make that choice?

For sure Sears.

Went for a run yesterday, first time since I broke my toe a couple of weeks back. My legs felt heavy, but you know, just getting out in the forest for a bit felt so good.

Not sure if its been mentioned but those virtual running videos arent too bad if you get stuck on a treadmill. Been slowly getting back to movement.

I like running with my watch, keeping track of things. But more and more I like running without anything. Keep my phone in a flip belt in case of emergencies, but yeah. Just run. Dunno how far, dunno how fast. Though I’ve run a lot around here so I can make reasonable guesses so it’s not like I’ll accidentally run 20k instead of 5.

Yeah I like doing this too. Tend to look up my route afterwards on Google unless it's one I'm used to that I can guess easily.

Bumping this up. Anyone training for anything? I'd been working on getting quicker, trying to beat my 5k PR from High School, but I'm still way off and the next month of school is going to ruin the training routine.

I'm trying to figure out how to get my mileage up but anything above 15 miles a week and I always fall behind on obligations like studying and family stuff. I used to go out real early, but now my wife leaves for work by 5:30. Can't reasonably get home from a run before then.

Not training for anything specific but just trying to up my mileage in a slow, sensible, sustainable way after a long slump where I was running a couple of times a week but short distances and getting quite a lot of niggling pains

That's the worst. I hurt my quad playing soccer about a month ago, nothing major but still pretty painful, and it's just now getting back to feeling good again. Because I bike everywhere and have some big hills as part of my commute I can't ever really give my legs a true break. After that, I realized staying injury-free is the top priority.

Definitely! Very frustrating sometimes though. A whole month sounds super annoying. I do a fair bit of bike commuting too and it can make it hard to have a rest (and then when I do I feel guilty for not exercising)

I have had a cold and a flu this winter and still run every day. Taking it down to a couple of miles. Someone has to take the dog out! I think that doing it daily helps me internalize and work on my form.

Wow every day I'm impressed! How have you found that with injuries and stuff? I don't run anywhere near every day but I've become much better recently at allowing myself to do a mile or two just to get out and stretch my legs
