I haven’t felt the -2’s siren song, but I know some of you are into it. What am I missing?
It's the goddamn best.
Davin wrote:PS-2 has a unique (in my collection) delay sound where the low end is rolled off so the repeats get thinner and more tinny. It’s all over the early Slowdive records.

But, yeah, the secret sauce is the continuous pitch-shifting controls. There are absolutely rainbow sounds when it’s tuned just sharp or flat of the root note.

Bonus prize: You can run a patch cable from the tuner out to the input and make a freaky, tunable monophonic synth tone source.

Has there ever been a more resonant fx series name than "Flip"?

I think that's actually when they peaked in hype. It was all downhill from there.

Yup. That's my recollection too! I never ordered one because I didn't understand why I needed it. Clearly, I have seen the flaws in my previous thinking. I will say there are many other pedals that do this and I would hard pressed to try this at any price that wasn't under a hundred bucks.

I never had any Mellowtone stuff. Like, never tried any of it. Why??? What's wrong with me??
