Re: lordgalvar

I haven't bought a hat in years, since I ordered several in a UGHH sale once. Don't know much about baseball caps, but damn, these vintage replicas: https://www.ebbets.com/collections/ballcaps

lordgalvar wrote:Hats. I like wearing baseball caps. The problem is that they've changed. Either the crown is too damn tall or way too small. They used to make hats that were somewhere in between, but only trucker style hats seem to be that height.

Should I:

wait for baseball season and go to angel stadium and try on a the hats to find that one mismade one in my fitted size?

just buy the trucker hat with some hot rod print and just explain to everyone that I don't like Ed Hardy?

Things I won't do:
Go to Lids at the mall.

Note: you will be punched in the throat by a death strike if MAGA is mentioned. Those style of hats are what's wrong with hats. Garbage!

Any good leads on hats? I'm probably too old for skateboard hats which wouldn't be a problem if I also vap'd, but I don't, so no Volcom or Alien Workshop. I'm still happily married so no full brim or fedora suggestions. I ain't got time for a little bit of Jessica in my life...just got time for my wife.

Alternative: get a haircut and continue to not wear a hat.

I've got a couple of those Ebbets hats and can vouch for the quality / general awesomeness. They do have a shallower fit than the big ass New Era type things, but still substantial enough to fit on my abnormally large Irish head.

Two things to consider if you do end up getting one: first, follow the instructions on their site for recommended way to measure for your size. If you've currently got a fitted cap size in your mind that you've used in the past, it probably isn't the same. I've had to send one back and it sucked. Secondly, those hats are all true vintage replicas, so sometimes there's unusual shit about them, like unstructured bills. They're fine, but def a bit weird if you're used to the more modern ones. Whatever floats your boat, just make sure to read each particular cap's description.

Oh, also, a long time ago I saw an old woman wearing a cap like this:

I've wanted one ever since (especially since it was a Holy Cross cap and Holy Cross's school colors include purple).

Look what else I found:

i have an old Ebbets SF Seals cap that i bought way back in the late 90s. i need to fix it, though...it's the adjustable model, and i trimmed the leather strip that does the adjusting too short. wonderful piece, though.

Bros I need some more cool baseball style hat recommendations. I have a big head and curly hair, so that adds a little to the size. Right now I wear a black surgical/chef looking cap to work, which is good for keeping sweat out of my face, but I'm kinda tired of it and need a change.

Thanks for all the hat stuff. I forgot about ebbets. I ordered one of those PCL Angels hats (see dodgers, we were first).

I also got a NewEra Expos hat. My wife hates it. She thinks it's the dumbest logo. Found out that NewEra sells three different crown sizes and they don't label them well; I think the angels team store would get them all messed up. It's a bit too big though at 7 3/4, but my other NewEra at 7 5/8 is way too small.

Speaking of growing heads, anyone see that weird article that Barry Bonds has two of the top rated Schnauzers show dogs in the country? I guess that's his passion now. Never seen that dude smile until he hugged that dog. I prefer muts and cats.

When I plumbed, I wore a bandana under whatever hat I could get for free. And sweat bands, Dee Dee style.

Can't decide if I like that ancient Bees hat or not. I like our current(?) logo a lot:

Yeah, I prefer the current one too. I looked hard at that vintage one, but it just isn't as cool.

I should get a bees hat. I pay more attention to them (except for last year) than I do to 1/2 the major leagues.

tom waits hunches like a gargoyle over his desk to write letters with tar instead of ink and sends them to nick cave who sends back vials of dust from a burnt down town in the old west. all the letters are in increasingly aggressive growls and coughs transposed to paper. pitchfork reports on this as a feud but at least one of either waits or cave views it as a collaboration

I think New Era do the 9Twenty which is a shorter cap. Pretty arcance references they have, mind you.
Mayble look at Flexfit caps as well?
