I had to go to the midwest for some family business and the cab driver managed to squeeze his racist and transphobic views in the literally 7 minute ride to my sister's house. He also didn't know how house numbers work. I feel like this is equivalent of a midwesterner coming to my city and immediately getting mugged by a Hasid who's yelling "EYY FUHGETTABOUTIT"

FUCKKK... Just received a built-to-order switcher from jolly old England, and it's the wrong one, and it's my fault.

local brewery did a special pilsner, Casimir Reserve for Pulaski Days here in Grand Rapids. Was stuffing my face full of Polish food and celebrating my heritage and stuck drinking Coors Light because the Polish hall we went to was out.

Coors Light will cause you to instantly age above 55 and start tucking your t-shirts into your jean shorts. Stop it.

i think most of my happiest times in life were when i was totally absorbed in books or music and lost to the world. on the other hand, if i stayed in all the time i'd never have gone to Amsterdam to see Gong, driven up and down the West Coast and Sierras/Cascades, or gone to the fourteen gigs i've seen this year. but having to come out of my safe zone always hurts. no matter what i'm doing, you'll hear me bitching about how i don't want to go. lunch, coffee, an MBV show in New York...it really doesn't matter.

I feel that way too. I'm a bad friend especially.
Usually when I don't wanna go to a particular thing, it turns out to be ok in the end. Except for going to work.
My dream job is simply one that I don't absolutely loathe. All I want is a job that doesn't feel like a massive time sink for not enough compensation. Or at the very least, one that doesn't make me angry just by being there.

I feel you on the job thing. I'm like 90% there. My schedule is a little wonky but I'm otherwise quite happy with what I do.

More importantly though -- I'm a pretty bummer friend. A few weeks ago it was like, "I should go see Big Business and hang with my buddy," but there was a part of me resisting the whole time.

Ended up having a great time.

I never have a bad time once I get going.
Ain’t all that bad.

$450 at the vet later and my cat has a disease in all the digestive glands. This entails squirting drugs down her throat three times a day while she tries to murder me for putting that nasty as fuck pink stuff down her throat. I won't be playing bass for at least a week at the rate her onslaught onto my hands is going.
