Anything with a built-in flanger is spectacular (even now)! :!!!:

Great demo man--as always. I have a persistent GAS pang for BF1....

I agree about the Reticon chip--I think it's in the shorter minimum delay time available....

Late to the party. Awesome demos!

What's the deal with the Seppuku Space fuzz? Superfuzz pedigree, Scrambler,...? Seppuku isn't exactly cheap and super available around here, so I'm curious about my other octave fuzz options if I want those kind of sounds...:idk:

Thank you! Apparently the Spacefuzz is based on the Tim Escobedo Rambler according to this link:

After more than two months I finally managed to edit this comparison video:

The BF-1 has found a new home at Dandolin's place.

Nice to hear that you all like it. It's rather a rough demonstration, because I was a bit in a hurry to get the package ready for Dandolin when I made the recordings. ;)

Pepe's pedal demos (modified Johnson EAD-2 Analog Delay)

Post by Pepe »

Normally I don't modify my pedals at all, but the original pedal is simply terrible in many ways:
- it does only really work with a buffered pedal in front of it
- it has a horrible bypass sound that kills your clean tone
- the delay sound distorts if powered with a fresh battery or with a regulated 9V power supply
- the amount of feedback is very low
- the single potentiometer for clean and effect volume does not offer well balanced combinations.

So I rehoused and modified the pedal and now it has a true bypass switch (on the left). The delay effect still needs a buffered pedal in front of it to work properly, though. A voltage regulator ensures that the pedal receives less than 9V with a standard power supply. This way the distortion of the analogue delay effect is moderate. I replaced a resistor to enhance the feedback rate. Now the delay can self-oscillate like crazy. Two separate controls for effect and clean volume are simply better to achieve the right sound. The footswitch on the right enables echo trails when bypass is selected.

I sent this pedal as a Christmas gift to friend in Illinois and he really likes it.

Would it be wrong to have my BF1 re-coated in purple crinklecoat?

So H Y P E for the Sick Pitch demo! Shout out to Eivind for not stepping THE FUCK UP!

This was meant to be though... Pepe was meant to demo this... a pedal nobody really "wants" but people think it is cool (not talking smack, Pepe said he'll probably sell it afterwards).
