Put this lil guy together for a jam-mate to simulate his giant setup in small format. He's got lots of big shit like Line 6 delays and mods, and one of those rack-mount dual Rats that he just piles up on the floor. I built him a big beautiful pedalboard for his hot mess but he never bought velcro and decided he didn't want to cart a big populated board around anyway so he puts his shit in a suitcase and then takes half an hour to plug it all in. He plays lots of improv gigs with a rotating crew and his pile of crap comes with him, so I figured for our sessions I'd help slim it down. Now all he has to bring is his wah and Whammy pedals.

Where can I find Details on the AUX OD?

Thanks, man!
You can find out about it right here
The one that's on my board is a one-off I built for this band. I'd been building the pedals I call the Ektachrome (mostly for friends), which is a light, vintage-y/crackle-y OD in the middle position, but goes super wooly and blown-out bass-y to the left and sharp/bright treble-booster styles to the right. Kinnnnnd of full-boost styles, but with it's own flavour of grit. Perfect, for goosing other pedals (apparently, they're great in front of a Big Muff) or re-EQing reverb and modulation, so it cuts through like a cold knife or subs everything out in to a wooly, bloomy blanket, hahahaha. I basically build the pedal I couldn't find and tailored it to my liking. I didn't really think anybody else would care? It was perfect for what our band does, but I found that I needed a clean boost as well and didn't have a lot of room on my board, so I opted to box it up with a SHO after it, to give it even more of an EQ spread by punching up the bottom end and mids. And that's what's on my board. TMI? I really should demo it some time. I have about 20 PCBs of the Ek circuit just sitting on my workbench...

^^^ that's the Ek on it's own. More personal one-off builds are on IG @ sounds_like_broken

The top, larger one is the OD and boost (described above) - the bottom smaller one is just a dual-tap controlling the DD7 and acting as a full-stop/erase for the RC1.

Dude if you did a small ILF run of those Ektachrome I bet you'd sell enough to make it worth it. I can't get enough of small builders making weird dirt pedals.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I should really tell my parents they did a lousy job building self-esteem, hahahaha - then, maybe I'll batch-up and do a couple of demos.

Tell your parents you can't talk to them for a while because you are building a bunch of pedals.

Can't wait for a demo.

I love the look of these as well, it reminds me of something but I can't figure out what.

Yeah lemme get one of these in matte black, I was looking at a Walrus Emissary but this is way cooler.

i can see how this is a massive turn on for a bunch of people

i mean, i think i've wanted every single item on this board at one point or another

but dang this is giving me anxiety

Anxiety from what? This is the most uncomplicated setup I can imagine. If I only want to use 2 pedals I patch 2 pedals. Done. I'm super excited about how anxiety reducing this setup is instead of rearranging all the time!

Bass board

Image

Bass into MXR di+ distortion
Dirty out direct to DOD mixer
MXR bypass out to Rolls 2-way crossover
Low to left Zoom, High to right Zoom
Zooms to DOD mixer
Mixer to TubeWorks Bass Driver, to amp

Expression pedals control the level of both Zooms, which each have settings suitable for low and high frequencies. So octaver, fuzz etc. on the lows, and chorus, reverb, overdrive etc. on the highs. The MXR is set so when in clean mode the volume is all the way down, thus I just get sound from the Zooms. When I kick on the distortion it runs in parallel to the split channels so the effects are unaltered. One of the cool things about having a crossover in the mix is that I can fade the highs in and out subtly to hit the Blue Tube with different tones, or more dramatically and use it like a wah. Doing the same with the Low side gives me wubs galore. Love this setup.
