So I finally recorded a little ditty...

Post by foomanfat »

and it's a cover.
An acoustic rendition of OutKast's Hey Ya (original, I know :whateva: ).
Your thoughts, be they on the actual recording or my jank-ish vocals/playing, are greatly appreciated.
This is the first recording I have ever done. Please be gentle.

Dude, I dig your voice, and your playing is good too. Just have to work on recording/mixing. I've gotten a lot of good advice from members on here, although I'm not sure what sound you're aiming for, a technique I use sometimes is I record an instrument on two or even three tracks. That way I can keep one track dry and add effects to the other(s) and mix them at will. It ultimately makes for a thicker sound (if thats what you're going for) and can make that part stick out more in the mix.

As I said your playing and vocals sound great so far, keep on recording and experimenting. :thumb:

Yeah - not that have any idea, but it sounds like a bit too much chorus and maybe get a pop thing for ur mic. I use an old cd sleeve thing that does the job but if you have a spare $10 to contain ur massive lungs it may be worth it ;)
