Memorial Day codes/deals

Post by echorec »

It's that time again. Outside of BF/Cyber Monday, this is one of the biggest weekends to score deals on pedals and other gear. For some brands, it's one of the rare sale periods outside of November (Chase Bliss, EQD, etc.). Reverb has already started their sale and more manufacturers will be added to the inclusion list Friday.

https://coastsonic.com/ save15 (Mantic, Beetronics, Chase Bliss, Basic Audio, Earthbound)

A few shops are doing extended financing right now as well.

https://www.sweetwater.com/ (48-month on Roland/BOSS, 24-months on several other brands)
http://www.vintageking.com (18-months on nearly everything except demo items...Empress, Dr. Scientist, Meris + 36-months on Moog, etc.)
http://www.musiciansfriend.com (48-month on select items, 36-month/12-months on several brands)

a pair of Reverb highlights:

$169 for a NIB Dream Reaper https://reverb.com/item/5358525-adventu ... eam-reaper
$216 for a rainbow Flex https://reverb.com/item/11966944-mantic-flex-pro-le

For people wanting to unload instead, eBay is running a short-term promotion.

I wonder if anybody beats Coast Sonic's 15% off, in a meaningful way? (25% off or something)

Guesses?

Prymaxe code MEM25 for “up to 25% off” but 0% is somewhere on the way to 25%, so. :idk: I had an odd bit of luck a while back stacking one of their codes with close out prices on Digitech stuff, but everything seems jacked back up to MAP.

Wow the Prymaxxe website is pretty terrible. Slow loading, only lets you see a limited number of things at a time, etc.

Nowadays almost 100% of the things I'm interested in on Prymaxe are preorder so sales don't apply.

I order stuff pre-order all the time from them and get the discounts, fyi. Sometimes you do need to chat with them first.

Is it wrong of me to not get excited over 10-20% off sales? 20% is where I start to care a little bit, but 10 never appeals to me. It would have to be something stupid expensive to make it worth it to me. The used market is just so over saturated at the moment it seems like you can get almost anything for less. Fucking weird. When the sale cannot beat the secondary market. Sad too because a lot of us can't buy shit unless we do it that way. I know I've got to be WAY more careful now and I already did a dumb ass move by buying a few new pedals that I got my ass bit on.

Here's the condensed summary: FUCK prymaxe.

Here's the abridged version...yes I used abridged, as I've actually edited this down for time & content.

I ordered a pedal from them last Thanksgiving, because they were doing 20%, when everyone else was doing 15%. (generally I'd avoid them like the plague bearers they are, but I hadn't ordered from them in ages & wanted to save myself $60---big mistake) I used my Synchrony/Amazon card at checkout. Oh fuck me what a goddam fucking hassle. That was over 6 months ago and it's still not resolved. After 100 days without a pedal I contacted Synchrony & Amazon. Amazon just passed the buck and said after 90 days they won't do shit about fraud. Synchrony told me they'd open a dispute, but it could take 60 days to be resolved. It took about 57 days into the dispute, but the money finally went back on my card (according to Synchrony's policies, I should've never been charged for an item that wasn't in stock to begin with). Why did it take 57 days? Because Amazon Pay facilitated the transaction it was on them to coordinate with the merchant---but since Amazon only cares about their fucking 90-day guarantee they wouldn't do anything. Even though Synchrony finally put the money back on my card, they sent me a fucking letter last week telling me the merchant could appeal this decision within 2 billing cycles (fucking ridiculous). If you're counting that's 3+ months without a pedal, 2 months to resolve the dispute and then 2 more months for the appeals process---this was just as much fun as going to court or resolving estate taxes. I told Prymaxe in fucking December to cancel my order, that I wasn't willing to wait till February (their original ETA). Yet they refused repeatedly to cancel my pre-order, when I e-mailed them my request. When I would hit Prymaxe up on chat requesting a status update, it would just be more of the same---something vague, or sorry but the builder is no longer sending us updates. ---Oh you think? The builders don't want to deal with you either. Why can't I find my surprised reaction?
Maybe they should drop you. :picard: (that's whole other matter...this ridiculous notion of everyone being afraid to starve the parasite)

Also during this fucking ridiculous 6+ months of waiting, Prymaxe kept their pre-order open the entire goddam time. You know, because why the fuck not? What's the harm, when you're already 6 months behind on fulfilling orders, why not keep that door open?

Sound like they haven't changed at all. That's sad as hell to hear.

Because Western holidays can't be found on your ancient calendars? :idk: Face it, you know better, but you prioritize aesthetics so much, that you refuse to adhere to contemporary symbols and measurements.
